As you exit the Pannill Pavilion you will see a bronze sculpture to the left of "The Bond." The two men sharing a bench are Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt. The bronze sculpture, titled “Allies", by Lawrence Holofcener (b. 1926 - 2017). The first cast of “Allies” is located on Bond Street, in London, England where it was unveiled by Princess Margaret in 1995 to commemorate 50 years of peace since the end of World War II. The work is a tribute to one of the most important friendships of the 20th century.
In addition to painting and sculpting, Holofcener also enjoyed success in his careers as a Broadway actor, director and lyricist.
Please walk alongside the Pavilion, down the ramp, towards the north wall.
